Land Based Shark Fishing History-2 MAKOS in ONE night
Congratulations Will and Neville!! Unbelievable! It's been a pleasure fishin with Will for the last year. Will is a dedicated shark fisherman. The last 3 days of fishing we started out with 12 rods out. By the time the sun is setting it's just me and Will. I'm proud of my bunch of fishermen, they have accomplished there dream by way of persistence and detection. Even with persistence and dedication, luck plays a big part in it all. Neither Neville nor Will ever said "iv come to catch a mako". They said they come to catch a fish. The mako's were just a big bonus almost too much to ask for. Today we fish like there's no tomorrow. Tomorrow we shall bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph and sail on the still breeze, and shine on!

I want to point something out that says a lot. I came to help Will get his fish off the beach, it was freezing! There were several folks mostly all of us who fish together. We loaded Will's 10' mako on my truck and everyone went on home. Neville stayed by himself. I tryed to talk everyone there in to staying with him but no one there had the want to catch a big mako like Neville did. He even offered his 12/0 to who ever stayed. No one stayed and he caught his mako on his 12/0. Haha. He called Barry who lives realy close and Barry got there just in time to leader the fish and help out.

it just takes that extra push to get that fish, that one or two extra hours, or that one tide! this catch is so much better because we know it was caught out of dedication
Thank you all for the positive comments, it really does mean a lot. I have followed SFSC for a few years now and have been influenced even more to see that there are hardcore sharkers out there. Until I moved up to the Panhandle, and was fortunate enough to learn and build friendship by the side of Earnie Polk and many anglers, shark fishing was always solo for me whether from pier or beach. Neville Rowland and myself met through Earnie and our schedules matched well. With 2 people pouring their heart into our sport, the (success)damage is far more significant. Week after week after week we are out there hoping for that fish of a lifetime. The dedication finally payed off with such a majestic shark that...almost got away...Being my first post was the Mako, there will be many more.
